I wasn't born during their time either, but what the heck... Music knows no age!
I love a lot of music that is older than me! (and I'm proud of it).
Though the Beatles are not my thing... I don't despise them but I don't even really like them... I have a feeling that if I lived in that period I would have hated them and I would have been 'against' them (come on, someone must have hated them! ;)).

My father hated Them, aswell as my Grandparents. My mom however loved them, thats where I get my beatle background.

The Beatles rock. Too bad John and George aren't here anymore. Everyday that passes I hate Paul McCartney a little more. His new display (the release of Let it be...naked) is pathetic.

Paul has become very comercial and has gone against all that the beatles originally stood for.

The Beatles are absolutely amazing! I would have to say they are probably one of the greatest contributions to music ever.

I just found out that Ringo wasn't part of the original group, and they were originally called the silver beatles, or something like that.

Yes. They had many names (and formations) early on. First there was John's band, the Quarrymen, then later Paul and George joined. After that they changed the name to the Moondogs and then to Long John and the Silver Beatles. They shortened it to the Silver Beatles and finally, only the Beatles remained. They had many drummers. Perhaps the most known one (excluding Ringo, of course) is Pete Best, who earned that position because his father owned the club in which the band used to perform  . He was fired once they switched to a more popular club :D .
