A nice homage Meg :) I guess you know that Drake (http://www.nickdrake.com/) (who died in 1974) was brought back into the limelight when Volkswagen used his `Pink Moon' song in one of their commercials.

thanks so much! I showed it to a friend who edits for one of our local newspapers and she wants to feature it somehow, sometime. That makes me happy!! My fiance and I love Nick Drake (and loved that car commercial too :)) I've been wanting to write something about him for quite some time, and the words just wouldn't come. Then one night I was just kind of outside and feeling melancholy and finally the words came and I went home and typed this up. It's also kinda about being alive in the midwest, life here and how ,for some reason ,I find that intertwining with Drake's music.
Thanks again, always appreciate everyone's comments,
Love Megan

I like the atmosphere you created in this poem, sad, real but magical. It reminds me of a song from this music genius:
I was born to love no one, no one to love me...
I was made to love magic, all its wonder to know...
