I have been wondering this for a while:

In the discussions of specific authors/texts, there are a lot of old posts made by guests, unregistered people, etc...

How were they able to post?

Previously comments made by viewers on books or authors were in a different system. When that system was integrated with the forums the only way to do it was to label all the posters as guests.

Was the script language also changed at some point, because a lot of those same old posts have html code things in them?

I've seen members talking about posts written by guests a year ago !:lol: I wonder will he ever answer...

Yes, there might be some old bits of html.
