Even though I don't like to talk about books in that way, that book is disaster, choose something else...

Oooh you intrigue my interest. Is the book vile and disgusting. Why so much hatred towards it?

I read American Psycho a few years ago and found it both disturbing and interesting.

The prose is quite unique. Bret Easton Ellis uses endless lists and repetition to create an almost hallucinatory narrative. I don't recall reading anything quite like it anywhere else. To be frank, after reading it, I thought I was turning psycho!

I suspect I'm onto a loser here, as no doubt you've already made up your mind, but I don't recommend this book for under 18s. It alternates between being extremely disturbing and boring, and is graphic and explicit. However, it certainly is interesting from a technical point of view.

thanks..yeah, I picked it up in BORDERS and started reading it and there was this part about the main character torturting some girl with rats or something. It was very odd. I wasn't sure if the entire book was that way or not.
