I have been, and am still, collecting dates for inclusion in The Book of Day that Never Were.

That is a compilation of dates of events that happen in literature. For example, January 3 is the Birthday of Christabel LeMotte, poet and lover of Blanche Glover and Randolph Henry Ash in A[ntonia] S[usan] Byatt’s Possession: A Romance.

or

August 28th is the day Edna Pontellier in Kate Chopin’s The Awakening finally learns to swim. She “had attempted all summer to learn to swim. She had received instructions from both the men and women; in some instances from the children.”

Do you know of any such dates? If so, let me know here, or at
[email protected]

Do you want a copy of the book? If so, let me know here, or at
[email protected]

Thanks

Tim

This note was posted on 11/24, the date that Griffin asks Sabine to send a photograph in Nick Bantock's Griffine and Sabine.
