Hello alejandra :) you can check out this forum Poll: How old will you be in 2006? (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=245) to give you an idea of people's ages too.

hehe tenderness...nothing wrong with the olds...I think that's half the reason I'm here...to be exposed to those who know more than me! :)

Age is a relative thing. For instance, I am going to be *gulp* 40 next month, which may seem very old to folks in their teens and twenties, but young to those who are in their 60's and 70's (and I believe there are a few members around of that age). I like mingling with different people regardless of age and other incidental things.

Alejandra, where are you from?

Under 25!! I'm still a baby being only 20. But you do learn a lot from all the wonderful members here. Welcome Ale.

Besides, why count your life merely in no. of birthdays? Some people still in their teens have experienced (or even achieved) more than most people do in their entire lives. Others on the other hand, can be considered "old" in their minds very early in life. What is the use of living to a ripe old age if you just use the time to sit on your backside, doing, experiencing, acieving nothing?

Carpe diem is a wonderful piece of advice, if you ask me

And Grace, you are no baby. I'm not even in high school.

Haha, if the forum ever met (as this idea was flirted with before but will likely never happen) we could never exclude the old folks that saunter about with their walking sticks to keep the young'uns together. Lets face the dead truth: the biggest reason anyone wanted to meet people from here is because they're single ... so when do we meet??? Hahahaha (j/k)

They are much more convenient... especially when one is doing the Hustle!

Oh my dear, a good cane will never go out of fashion. So much easier to whack young whippersnappers over the head with when they get too sassy...

See, its funny because when I was a kid I thought "grownups" were very serious all the time and sophisticated. Like when I was an adult, I would sleep in a business suit or something. Essentially though, I feel pretty much the same on the inside as I did 20 years ago. Apparently I don't look all that different either. The drinking age in Massachusetts is 21 and I was buying a bottle of wine to bring to my Dad's for dinner one weekend. The cashier at the liquor store carded me! Ha ha, it made me feel good, although I don't think I look like I am 20 years old still. Maybe 29 or 30. Not too bad for a "crone" eh? :brow: ;)

Funny, it happens to me now when I am much older than legal drinking age, but when I was younger no one ever questioned me about my age. Perhaps I am in a timewarp... ;)

I was actually the one my friends would cajole into buying beer when we were teenagers. (and yes, that is wrong and no, folks should not do it...)

I wish the younger folks would not act like being in your 30's is so OLD. It really, really isn't. I live and act my age, whatever that means....always have. Which means, I try to enjoy life because it is somewhat fleeting.

i don't think that people dont want to talk to older ppl but sometimes it's easier as they can relate to them more as they might have the same interests.

Hey guys, It was just an innocent question..... just to clarify things I have nothing against older people and I don't believe 30 or 40 is old... and I appreciate to share points of view with people of all ages...

I don't remember who asked me where I am from... but the answer is that I am from Cochabamba-Bolivia... small country with many trouble ;) I speak spanish which would explain any grammar errors when writing in english so excuse me for that ...

Oh dear, I don't think anyone is angry with you, alejandra.
I hope I didn't give you that impression via my post earlier in this thread. I wasn't angry at anyone when I wrote that. Just in case that is what you are referring to....

Oh, no, I didn't get that impression Kathy.... don't worry.... I meant that I didn't expect this thread to grow as much as it did.... I thought I would get only a couple of responses.... jeje....

I'm eighteen, though when I was buying tickets to a movie which was forbidden from children younger than 15 years, I was thought too young to see it... :D

Alexei

Sixteen years old, but still I don't think it really has some matter. Someone has already said that age is relative thing, and the experience with everyone is very different. I am sure there are some things I could be more experience than someone on fifty years. I don't say I am. Actually the best think is generations to learn from each other without neglecting older or younger people.

I'm fifteen, but Ale, i agree with you that i don't think it matters. you're only as old as you feel. or act. or pretend. ;)

Sixteen... but I spend a lot of time with people older than me (and younger too, come to think of it). I like talking to people o fdiffernt generations, because that way you get lots of new ideas going around.

I'm 16 but will be 17 next month. I agree about the whole age issue-- it truly shouldn't matter. I mean, one of my really really good friends is 40 years older than me! And she's not my mom. That should tell you something, haha.

19... a nondescript age really..

You get spoiled because the last three birthdays (in US) were social milestones of sorts; driving, R movies, becoming legal, etc. Nineteen's nothing except that one's eligible to serve alcohol in restuarants, if they happen to work in one. Which I don't. A coffee shop does not lend itself to spirits, if it did it wouldn't be much of a coffee shop right? ;)

That is pretty standard. At least it is here. Someone who isn't 18 can't ring up my wine at the grocery store or anything. I always feel bad since they have to call somone over just to pass the bottle over the scanner.

Ah well in Ohio it's 19 to serve, but some states go to 21 and others lower it to 18. In Maine you can be 17 if you've got a supervisor at least 21 years old.
