Joy

A newborn’s sparkling eyes
A heart unspoiled by envy or hate
A new love – fresh and trilled by hearts pounding
And tingled by a touch
An old love, safe and secured by understanding
And trust.
A morning at dawn with a cool wind and
Heavy dew refreshing all of life to began anew
The end of a day at dusk when spirits wane
When stars show face and moon beams bounce
Open laughter – honest and sincere for no
Other reason but for the pleasure of life
A cup of coffee, a good book snuggled by
The comfort of a good heart
A child’s sweet voice – unhurried, unangered
Spoken from an innocent soul
An old heart secured by truth learned over
Time and the knowledge of right and wrong
And having chosen the right.
Seeing those most precious standing proud
And strong filled with the goodness of
Life and sustained by the knowledge of
True Love – graced by respect for all.
All these and more are the true Joy’s of life
Given freely to those of true hearts and spirits

Thank you for sharing the poem, pdcoke. :D I liked this part -

And tingled by a touch
An old love, safe and secured by understanding
And trust.

We do have another section of the forum, specifically designed for the posting/sharing of personal poetry. You can peruse it here (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=14).

Would be most glad to hear more from you!

Hopefully I'll see you around the forums  .

Thank you, Friends like kind words are to be treasured.

Friendship

Granted one great wish to take
Some would fame or fortune take
Others would seek a king to be
I – I would seek your friend to be
For all that your heart would have me be
Alas fame is fleeting
And fortunes cannot a friend be
Kings can not command you care
But a friend alone will care
For evermore.
