Hi all. My name is Jack. Just when I thought that the internet was going to eclipse television in being a truly disappointing medium, I stumbled quite accidentally on this site. It's an oasis.
I'm just new to New York City, and am exploring it one subway stop at a time. I have a job in the medical field and at night, I'm trying to pursue this dream of being a working New York jazz musician. (First call on everyone's list??)
I sometimes write, but not enough to take it seriously. I just have this love for words, and anyone elses are just as good as mine. So, that's me now. I may just add some stories or thoughts if prompted.

Oh, don't give us too much credit. There have been many times when I've been too bored to do anthing else and decided to spend time on the LitNet. :D

Consider it done!
Look forward to seeing you around. Have fun!!

Hey, Jack!
I just found Litnet, too, and I think it's going to be a major oasis for me, too. I love my 3D friends and family, but none are readers.
I took a noontime course 5 years ago, taught by an English professor at Rice University, our local Ivy. It was called "New York in Literature". Every book on the syllabus was set in New York City. The first class was at noon on September 11, 2001, and the title of the first book we were to be discussing that day? The Age of Innocence.
Keep in touch.
