I have heard that there is a website where teachers can direct their students to chat about literature with other students on the web. The teacher is able to monitor these chats and give students grades for their participation. Does anyone know where I can find this website?

Thanks for your help.

I previous school of mine used WebCT - very, very useful! It could offer correspondences between students and instructors, quizzes, announcements, helpful links, etc. If you search for a decent site, I would definitely recommend WebCT.

My college uses Blackboard...same thing, very useful...and you can chat with your classmates, have forums, drop off assignments, veiw your grades, have group collaboration, all kinds of great stuff. As far as chatting with people who are not in your school, though, I don't know of any websites, but I'm sure that a quick search would produce a lot.

Have you tried asking any teachers about it, and whether or not they'd be interested in giving credit for chatting if they knew their students were using it?
