I loved Mildred Pierce. I wasn't so keen on it at first, but it grew on me, and I love James M Cain's writing style. I should read some more of his books....

I saw the film a while ago, too. I think I enjoyed it.

Cain had a very gritty style and his works were the inspiration for many classic movies of the "film noir" style. I liked the movie a little better than the movie, not because the movie actually was better than the book, but because Joan Crawford really had such a great way about her....
