Hello everyone,

What's the deal with Wordsworth's "Lines composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey"?

Is he a Nature Cultist, or did he just find a poetical vein that lead him that way that day?

What is the poem about, if not a pseudo-religious tribute to Nature?

This poem is not so much about nature, but Wordsworth's realization that he's getting old. He goes out walking and remembers that as a child he could revel in it completely. But now as an old man, he's torn between giving up on it completely or taking it in in moderation. Appreciate the beauty of the land, but not with the giddyness of a child. Most of the romantic narrative poems go along these lines, especially for wordsworth
