How's  everybody ?
Wish u r doing well.

My question is basically regarding drama. I've read many English novels that have presentation of Islam in away or another (e.g. A passage to India ) but I've not read till now any play that has direct or indirect discussion of Islam .Please if you know any do not hesitate to suggest me titles .

Pardon me for asking but I wonder if the direct or indirect discussions have to be in a play? Why a play? I am curious.

In fact ,there is no specific reason . I'm just interested in reading plays. :santasmil

Kit Marlowe's "Tamburlaine" is about one of the greatest Islamic leaders.

Hi Ranoo!

The first play that comes into my mind is a German one, written by G. E. Lessing (famous classic at least within German boarders ), and required reading in nearly every German high-school today. Published on the tide of the Enlightenment, the play Nathan the Wise, takes place in Jerusalem governed by a Sultan anno 1190. Judaism, Islam and Christianity all have one or more characters to represent them. The play, leaving the reader with an unexpected turn of expectations at the end, is still amazingly up-to-date as to religious tolerance. I think somewhere in the middle, there's an interesting parable to be found, dealing with the question which religion was the archetype.
First I feared that the play wasn't translated into English, but luckily I found it available on Project Gutenberg; here's the link for you: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/3820
Enjoy! ;)
