Oh! Wide Sargasso Sea a wonderful story, set in 1840's emancipated Jamaica.

Antoinette is a Creole heiress who ultimately goes mad after her arranged marriage to ex-pat husband, ensconced on her plantation. Her plight envelops Bronte-esque sensibility clashing with her maid Christophines' practicising obeah.

The movie of this book is excellent, I highly recommend it as well.

Yeah, it's a good story.
but I was wondering if anyone has information about post colonial literature and how jane rhyse (the author) critcises it through her novel.

A good example of postcolonial literature is Chinua Achabee's "Things Fall Apart" but I've never heard of Jane Rhyse...sorry
