I've decided to give a $300 USD first place prize to the winner of the annual contest.
This will be delivered by check, paypal, or online gift certificate if you prefer.

Is it only for the winner. How about 2nd or 3rd. Maybe you could ship them a book of their choice or a book from your collection.

This is great! Just a simple question. So if i were to have a story prepared for August, I would submit it by the first of that Month? For the voting process of that month? Or would I submit it a little earlier for the Admin/moderators to process?

Hi Asa,
We do not process the submitted stories -as long as they fulfil the entry requirements- and they appear the way they are submitted. However, it would be a good idea to submit your story sometime in July to be included in the August poll. I usually set up the polls on the 1st of each month so you might be a little late if you wait till that very day.
You can find more about the rules here: http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16585

is there any limitation in topics of the story?
As long as your story doesn't break any of the forum rules (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/announcement.php?f=4), I think everything else is pretty much a fair game, Tulysg. Also make sure to read the Competition rules (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18200) if you'd like to participate :) (so get posting to be able to take part! :D)

While $300 is pretty sweet, I think some SERIOUS recognition for first would be in order, as well as for second and third.
((That would make an awesome 2nd & 3rd place prize, too, a special recognition deal. I dunno, devoute an announcement to them or something.))

May I ask why the prize is in USD? =)

Because this site is based in the USA and the owner is an American as well.

Does that mean we do not get it if we were outside America?:(

The winner will get the prize advertised no matter where they live but it will always be up to the value of 300 USD.

Really?
I figured that, since the email was .co.uk, and then you are a British moderator... I just figured it was a British based thing. Hmmm.
Well I'm American so I wouldn't have understod the prize otherwise, but I was curious anyway. =)

Radical! You're the only one I've ever met though. xD
Still, why is the email we send stuff too .co.uk? or am I off on my information?

I am wondering where from the money come? Does is recollected by little apportions of others or donations?

The money may be charity but if we receive it it is all fine and even managing such a site is costly affair but the men who do so must have great passion for liteature, as I do have as NOBEL had and as SHAKESPEARE had.........

Thanks in anticipation :)
