I can't seem to access public profiles for some reason.

there should be no reason you cannot Joe, try just coming on as a guest and then press members then the letter and then you should be able to see it. anyone can do that .

I'll look into it, it might have been an error from when I made some other recent userground changes.

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.That was when I tried to access my own profile.
