I was thinking, do you know of any songs that express the theme of individual freedom as expressed in the novel Anthem, by Ayn Rand? I can't think of any songs that deal with a perfect society type theme, and more importantly the theme that individual freedom and individualism is a great thing. I need it for an English project, so if you know of any the lyrics can't be vulgar or offensive.

I dont know about the whole "perfect society" thing- but freedom and individualism, what about Ronan Keating's "I hope you dance"?
it's pretty into being yourself and doing what you think is right.
Hope that helps.
There's also Natasha Bendingfield's "unwritten"
and Tracy Chapman's "talkin' bout a revolution" which is a song about revolution (0bviously) or Tracy Chapman's "subcity" which is a song about how a supposedly good society is ignoring homeless people and therefore is stopping them being free and individual- maybe a bit obscure.

hope that is okay.

There's a song called "Anthem" from the broadway musical Chess.... kind of fits in with the individual freedom idea
