The thimble slipped from her thumb,
Kissed the ground, rolled around,
And made a swirling, metal sound.

All was Silence but for that
And then there came a little gasp
And through her paper lips, she rasped:

“There is no shining yellow light,
A veil of black obscures my sight.
So this is how I meet the night.”

I just started writing and the first stanza of this poem just kind of came out--in iambic tetrameter of all things! But anyways I kept writing and this is how it ended up. There's something about it that I like, but I'm having a really hard time deciding what I think of it. It almost feels like I didn't write it and I'm looking at it from completely outside of myself... or that I was completely outside of myself when I wrote it...

But anyways I seem to be suffering dearly from lack of perspective. I'd love it to hear your guys' thoughts.
