Hi guys, just wondering if anyone had read the novel Desiree by Anne Marie Selinko. As of yet it seem to be the only novel she ever published, and I have the original English translation.
I bought in at the local SA store for two dollars, stuck it on my library shelf for about three months, (I was reading Harry P6 at the time, a book that took me four months to pick up and read from when I bought it.) I picked it up one day and browsed the pages, which was my first mistake.
A five minute browse turned into fourty two pages later. I shelved the book, but planned to devour it once I had finished the Fanciful Wizarding Lads book.

A Short Synopsis.
The book in its form is an assortment of Diary entries following the life of Eugene, Desiree, Clary daughter of a late silk firm owner, her brother is arrested in the new French republic for reasons unknown.
A meeting is arranged with the magistrate, and his secretary through the course of events is invited to dinner in the hopes of meeting Eugenes older sister.
This gentlemans name is Joseph Bounaparte, and subsequent introductions to his brother Napoleoane, change the life of Desiree forever, as she eventually becomes the elected Queen of Sweden.

I found this book to be extremely enjoyable, filled with the right amounts of emotion, drama, and romance. It took me less than a month to complete, and i would love to discuss it with anyone who is interested in it.
