I am trying to find the two points where Marlow mentions Butchers and Policemen. I know he does it twice in the text of the novel but I can't find the second instance (I knew I should have dog-eared those pages...damn!) I have tried searching using both of these words but I can only find the instance right after he tosses his shoe in the river. Also, I remember a point in the novel (or at least I think I do...) where Marlow pontificates on the necessity of civilization, order, law, and the like. I am hunting for it but having no luck. If anyone remembers about where it falls in the story that would be helpfull. I would rather not have to read the whole story over again from start to finish, but I'm running out of options. In the meantime I'll keep hunting...
