Brazilnut, that verse sounds like it comes from the Old Testament, although I don't place it. I am looking, but am not finding it. Are you 100% sure it was from the Bible? Try this link: searchable Bible (http://www.biblegateway.com/keyword/)

Hmm, the quote seems to be talking about favoritism. I remember something from James 2.

You are right, but I looked and it only talks about showing favoritism between rich and poor

This question really intrigued me, as usually when idolatry is mentioned in the Bible, it is usually accompanied by a command to burn something down-not a call for fairness. The only context in which this line has a hope of showing up would be sarcasm. I happen to love God's sarcasm, so I just spent an hour trying do dig this jewel up. ;D

First of all, I tried searching every variation I could think of on your bit of quote.
Nope, every time idols or images are mentioned, you will find equal-opportunity incineration...no favoritism there!

The idea of a Book of Friends stuck in my head though, seemed quite familiar. So I Googled it, and sure enough it brought me to The Society of Friends (Quakers)! I tried to find a Quaker Bible to search, but apparently these aren't used exclusively; the American Standard Revised and King James Versions are also used.

At this dead end, I decided to just look up the chapter and verse you vaguely remembered. Luckily, only 11 books have a 10:35 (Numbers, Joshua, 2 Kings, Ezra, Nehemiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and Hebrews).
Unfortunately, none of these had anything to do with your topic.

So, without any further information, my conclusion would be that you were reading a Quaker pamphlet with a 10:35 verse and also quotes from other Quaker literature, most likely a tidbit on pacifism.

surah 10:35 in the quran mentions idols. It doesn't seem an exact match, but it reminded me of some recollection from the quran.

I think that perhaps it is a paraphrase of the comandments?
From Exodus:
20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Brazil, I've ran this through my electronic concordance and found no match in the King James Version, at lest as worded. There is a verse that speaks of not letting another judge you in your observance of a holy day, and the aforementioned verse about not esteeming one man above another. There is even a verse telling us not to judge each other for what we eat, if one is a vegetarian, fine, if one isn't, fine, if both give thanks to God for what they have.

It may be that the quote came from a more modern version of the Bible, and I haven't been able to match the verse yet. I do keep several versions of the Bible on hand. I think there is a website that allows searches and compares something like 20 Bible versions, but I cannot remember it at the moment. Subterranean might know, she is quite a Bible scholar. God bless,

...is the newest of Idols it seems. Peace, in the context of Nietzsche is comparable to "good and evil" and therein lies the most important of hidden devils.

That one society is good and another is evil is a common weakness in us all and I mean ALL as in, muslim societies too.

Again, the Quran states this absolutely and relates that the Creator always gives the created not only 'an enemy' but also, a shaitan...or a devil.

...to pacifists begin to 'fight' for what they believe in?

I'd say a true pacifist never does and prefers to be of the oppressed and impoverished.

And really, pacificism is just another hockey puck on the table of war...like the one we are currently involved in which seeks to deliver us all from evil....via the crazy mixed up notion of Man's Democracy.
