Study of Literature Essay

I want to write an essay which looks at how a character changes throughout a book. I've been looking, but can't seem to find a template for this type of essay. Could someone here provide me with one? Thanks.

I don't think such a 'template' exists. What you need to to do is:

1) Read the text (you haven't specified what it is you're required to read).

2) Try to understand what happens. Look at what 'the character' says and does. (What are the character's goals? What holds him/her back from realizing those goals?)

3) Look at what other characters say about the character you're analyzing.

4) Does the character you're analyzing 'get' or 'not get' what he/she wants? If so, how? If not, why?

Usually, this type of essay requires you to support your ideas with specific examples/dialogue from the text. But before you can write an informed essay, you've got to be informed. Read!
