Mind and body ravaged,
Yet there remains hope,
Feelings and emotions savaged,
Yet there remains hope,
From the great depths of darkness,
There is a glimmer of light that is hope,
From the heat of the furnace,
There is the cool air that is hope,
The day may seem like night,
But, there remains hope,
When everything will be just right,
As long as there is hope,
And here this story shall end,
This story of hope,
Strive to always defend,
That glimmer of hope,
When you find that sometimes it is hard to cope,
Hold onto that trusty rope,
That which is hope.

the word "hope" doesn't have a poetic ring to it.if i were to write a poem about hope, i would probably not use the word itself!

What makes a word poetic is totally in the hands of individual experience. Thank you for the comment though!
