Am I the only one getting annoyed by the fact that it is getting nigh on impossible to make it through all New Posts (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew) before it times out and gives you the Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. message? :crash:

If so, fear not... try this link:http://www.online-literature.com/forums/search.php?do=getdaily . It will provide you with a list of all posts from the last 24 hours :D

Now, I was wondering: Could we get it on the menu bar? Pretty please?

I must admit that I get that too - I thought it was just because I use a Mac - does this happen with Windows machines as well?

Sometimes when I go back to the previous screen after viewing a link from new posts, it returns me to an earlier, cached version as well, which can be equally annoying - I find you have to click on New Posts from within an actual post in order for it to stick - if you click new posts from the new posts window itself, you can't get back there again (does that make sense to anyone?)

I'm sorry, I don't really get it, are you having problem with new posts? But then for every new posts there'll be book icons and the letters in the thread title will be in bold, right?

Or your issue is totally a very different thing?

It would be nice to search posts by last 24 hours. One thing I occiasionally do is go to search type "today" and select all posts and I get a list of what appears to be threads that someone has posted today.

I think its the server, and it seems consistent. Seeing its not a few people, it would be a huge time saver. A favourites button would be good. How about a ticker tape along the top with Yahoo alarm bells. I think we could do with more cheerful looking icons, and while we are at it, a percentage guage on a person as he is typing, to let people know if there is time to make coffee before that post. Some threads are more like IRC

Claes, why don't you bookmark the link? Oh, I did... It's just that most people probably don't know about this little trick, and I thought everyone should be able to benefit from it. I just happened to know about it from another forum using the same software. We have a Posts Last 24 Hours button there, and just about everyone seems to be using it.

I must admit that I get that too - I thought it was just because I use a Mac - does this happen with Windows machines as well? It is not machine specific. It happens because of the way the forum software is set up.

I'm sorry, I don't really get it, are you having problem with new posts? In a way, but not because they are new: The New Posts on the menu bar is a search, and the resuling list of threads times out after a while. Then, when you try to jump to the next page of the new posts list (typically five pages or so if you come here once a day as I do) you'll find that it is no longer there... ...and you get the Sorry - No matches message.

One thing I occiasionally do is go to search type "today" and select all posts and I get a list of what appears to be threads that someone has posted today. Right. That is essentially the same thing as my suggestion, and would produce the same result. :thumbs_up
