View Full Version : Would you like a book club?

I just had an idea.

Would anyone like to form a book club? You could all decide on a book to read each month and then discuss it here.

I could make a forum area for the discussion. All I really need to get it going is people wanting to do it and a volunteer to be in charge of it.

It's a great idea, but I myself already belong to bookcrossing.com and I've spent a lot of time discussing books with people, mailing books to friends and actually meeting with them too. They have some great ideas for clubs though.

sounds like a good idea, although I've never participated in such a club before, and don't really know what to expect.

If the books won't be as Finnegan's Wake (*covers embarassed in a corner*), I'm game.

I think this is a great idea! It brings so much more to a text when you have someone to discuss it with. How would we decide what books to read?

You'd vote.

I say we make up a list post haste folks...i don't know how you intend to do it but if you're taking suggestions: Joyce's "Dubliners" now i suggest that just because i've been meaning to read it for some time. So if too many people have read it or whatever then disregard this post:D

I've been delaying posting my opinion here, but I must say I like the idea. My only trouble is that I can't even finish A Tale of Two Cities as extra reading because my load for my classes is two big. Next semester will be worse because I plan to take 5 lit courses not just 4!

So how are we with the Book Club? There was Dubliners mentioned, so that's it? Or we're still waiting for something? Or am I late once again? :o Is there actually the club?
