This Is Good-Bye

There’s really not too much that I can say—
The longer that I stay—
Well, it doesn’t get any easier with the passing of the time.
I came here looking for a friend—
Hoping that the lonely days would have new meaning—
Now the time has come for me to say good-bye.
There are friends that I’ll miss so—

Why are there folks like me? Sometimes I wonder…
We are outcasts in other people’s views—
There for their jokes and ridicule—
Misunderstood. So, what’s the problem? Get over it. Get over…
Please understand: I blame myself, I don’t blame anybody else—
I’m sure I have friends out there who will miss me just as well.
It all comes down to just one word that I don’t really want to leave behind:
I’ll miss you all so badly, but I’m afraid this is good-bye…

I'm sure you have your reasons for doing this, but really, I must ask you to reconsider. You are a great guy, and a wonderful part of this community.

You say you blame yourself and not others, but what for? You raise so many questions with this. If you can, please explain this decision, so we might understand a little better.

If you can't explain, I'll accept that, in any case, I know you'll be missed, and not just by me.

I hope you will reconsider your decision because of good friends (like these nice people above) you seem to have here. If you are set on leaving, then I wish you well. We haven't really gotten a chance to know one another, but I've always liked what you have to say in your posts, and I know you've been generous in giving the gift of your poetry to others so I wrote up a little send off in your honor (very impromptu but well meant, and I believe fairly accurate from what I've observed of your posts here).


Our own Pendragon now is setting sail,
Our once and future king of words and poems,
And presses on, continuing his tale
Without Lit. Net companions who have known

My dearest friends:

I seem to have more of them than a guy like me deserves. At least I know that my legacy is the one I want to leave behind. John Denver will say it for me:

That was me. The poems I wrote to honor anyone, because I always knew in my heart that there was a person there even if we disagreed at times or argued, threre was someone there and that someone was worth something to me. All of you have touched my life, and I cannot deny that. Pressures you know nothing of for I hide behind my rhymes and masks are overwhelming just now. But I shall return, when things calm a little. Just bear with me.

I prayed for each of you, even the ones who do not believe in a higher power. And I still whisper your names in the still of the night when I cannot sleep and I pray. I do this because I care very deeply.

I have stood on what I believe, but I have never downed the other for what he or she may believe. I tried hard to be a peace with everyone. No, RJ, we were not enemies at all little piglet, you just hadn't got used to me yet. I had no enemy, for I strove to get along with all.

We talked about our dreams, our thoughts about what tomorrow might hold--

Poems and Prayers and Promises, and the things that we believe in: In my posts they are my legacy to you all. And I shall return. My account does not close. Contact me if you like in the meantime. I'd love that. I live chat with several of you now and would love to talk with more of you.

A wise man once said:

You cannot choose family--but you can choose your friends.
