I don't think anyone needs pity in this book. i think they are all depressed for dumb reasons. just my opinion, though.

Well I definately wouldn't have called them dumb reasons: Heathcliff has been treated like dirt for most if his life and then loses the only person he loves. Catherine is in love with two very different men and the descision she has to make tears her apart. Edgar is in love with a woman who can never give herself completely to him, he has to live with the knowlege that she is in love with someone else. Isabella falls for a man who tricks her into believing he loves her then abuses her mercilessly... Do you need me to go on? No one in the book really has it easy.
