Are you talking about the book "In The Time of The Butterflies"? If is yes I haven't read the book yet. It was written by Julia Alvarez based in a true story that occurred in 1960 on Republica Dominicana. Some time ago I watched the movie directed by Mariano Barroso with an outstanding performance of Edward James Olmos as Rafael Trujillo, Salma Hayek, Mia Maestro and Lumy Cavazos as the three sisters Mirabal.

yep...that's the one. we have to read it for english class. i just started it.
