Warning from Jesus in the bible for the lip service Christianity, the lip service following.

Matthew 15:
7You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8 " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'"

Evidence that Jesus is not GOD and should not be worshipped.

Hit the road Jack and never come back no more,no more no more. What you say?

Peace

Ordinarily I wouldn't take the time to counter a post like this, simply due to the fact that

A.) The post comes from a thoroughly uneducated perspective, and no research has been done

and

B.) the post was obviously written in a caustic and belligerent manner, which is not suggestive of any wish for constructive edification or enlightenment.

I will, however, refute the above post convincingly, simply because a future reader may stumble upon it, in which case they deserve something more.

Matthew 15:1-9.

There are two main courses of thinking through which I will construct my argument.

The first observation which should be made here is that Jesus is talking specifically to a group of Pharisees and scribes. I believe that inherently he was also speaking to a larger group of future people. The people Jesus is talking to and about are those who pretend to honor and worship him whilst also teaching as commandment and obligation the knowledge of men. This type of worship is indeed in vain, for Jesus himself commanded us to love God with all our heart, soul and mind. Also, Jesus is quoting a 700 year old prophecy. For a moment consider the absurd notion that Jesus' specific actions were prophesied about seven centuries before his birth, and that the entire purpose of the prophecy was for him to later quote it when telling people he was not worthy of worship.

Also consider for a moment the even more ridiculous assertion that the Holy Bible, the foundation for the Christian worldview, and the book from which we know 99 percent of what we do about Jesus, has specific "evidence" which refutes Christianity. Within it's pages! And this incredible deduction has somehow slipped past 20 centuries of believers (apologists, scholars, etc)! But our faithful student here has revealed it! Shocking!

The second observation is . . . well there really isn't any other observation. The logic was so flimsy I guess I've already shot it down.

If anyone really wants scriptural references to Jesus' claims to divinity, first read my other post concerning this very topic, please. If there are any questions after that, please ask me!

If anyone wants more understanding of Jesus' explicit and implicit claims to be worthy of worship, please ask me!

Topic closed because there are already topics discussing/debating Jesus and the OP is presented in a disrespectful manner.
