With the coming release of the new film, The Celestine Prophecy, I was wondering if anyone has actually read the book and/or the sequels and your thoughts on it. In an interview, James Redfield claims that the ideas, or rather, "Insights," in the book do NOT promote a religion or cult. He also rejects the term "New Age" to describe it. It's essence, he exclaims, is spiritual. Do you agree or disagree? What is spirituality?

Until recently, I was unaware that Redfield actually self-published The Celestine Prophecy after being rejected by several publishers and later sold it for $800K to Time Warner. Another possible topic of discussion might include your take on the self-publishing industry based on the rare success of books like this one. Was this book a fluke given the market was saturated at the time with similar books on spirituality or does it have something to say?
