Poetry?

i've been listening to alot of The Doors lately and how many of you would consider some of their songs complete poetry? i've read many of their lyrics and they are, for the most part, just as good without the music as they are with
now i am expecting to get hassled on here considering the subject (know my english teacher was pretty offended by the fact that music like the doors is being lined up with his high class intellectual poets) so go ahead haha

I won't hassle you, but I don't agree. Music lyrics, even opera, don't usually reach the level of poetry for me. I'm sure there are exceptions. So why don't you post the lyrics you think are poetic, and I'll comment on it.
