I rejoice with all of you, you are all so dear. And Eva I have missed you so much.
I am celebrating the fact that any injury I sustained to my foot and leg and which prevented me from dancing has finally healed and I can go back to my beloved dance without excruciating pain. I am so grateful, so grateful and pray that anyone with a debilitating injury would be healed of it.

Hey I just finished two term papers too, but they are only 15 pages each not a whopping 22. The feeling is spectacular, all done and one entire chocolate car consumed at warp speed to make up for lost sugars.

I gave a presentation for the managers of a company that make protective coatings today (they want to get into the municipal market) I think they liked the presentation, at least they asked for copies of it to use in their research.

Wow, you've put your time away from us to good use. Congratulations on all counts. Good luck with the Uni application.

BTW, do they call it "the driver's theory" test in UK? Sounds kind of intellectual. We just call it the written part of the driver's test. Or at least I'm not aware of any official name.

the beginning of summer (well, early summer, late spring) over here and the beginning of the summer term... yep i know it's sad... had a day full of maniac drafting with my friend today, but then, anythings better than holidays when you've got to write term papers, might just as well write them during the term.. at least that way there's no need to feel rotten about your holidays being spoiled by papers...

what's a 3 point turn? sounds complicated. I don't drive (--> I'm a weirdo, seeing as everybody else in this country is crazy about driving).
Scher knowing that I d o n' t drive should also contribute to bringing the 'joy' back to driving. people like me are part of the reason academic jobs were invented: to give us an alternative career choice to taxi driving :) otherwise we'd end up as a menace to society :)

I AM TOTALLY EXCITED AND THRILLED for my friend Don Gowan. He has laboured for fifteen years or so on his version of Lancelot. His story is rich and sumptuous and goes much deeper on Lancelot and Vivienne, lady of the lake. I couldn't put it down, and I didn't want to leave that glorious world.
well yesterday he wrote me and told me is was just released. it is for sale on line and will be in stores, hard cover. I looked it up and just cried. I couldn't believe it. it is a faerie story in itself-the making of it. So I am rejoicing with him.

RJbibliophil
05-05-2006, 08:42 PM
It is a church event, in a manor of speaking we are confirming the grace we received in baptism and confirming our Christian faith. We have been studying for 2 years and have learned a lot. There are 13 others in my class. It is not strange to ask. If you have not grown up in a church that confirms people, you would not know.

Congrats Robin. I'm afraid I'm not in a celebratory mood today. Today was massacre day. Too many good people banned.

I'm in a celebratory mood today because I just attended my last class session ever (as a student at least). Yes, I still have about a month's worth of writing papers ahead before I'm officially done with coursework, but this was the end of actually attending classes, meaning next year I get to move on to the fun and mysterious "exams" portion of the doctoral odyssey. Well, just felt like sharing.

P.S. Congrats on all those posts Robin!

Congratulations Petrarch. That is incredible. You should be very proud of yourself.

Thanks Virg. :), although I'm not really a graduate yet, just done with my two years of coursework. It'll be at least another three years until I can put "Dr." in front of my name. I'm done with step one though (step two being to survive my oral exams next year, and step three being to write the dreaded dissertation), and that feels pretty worthy of celebration. It also means I'll get to start teaching/assistant teaching some courses in the college next year, which I'm super excited about.

Oh, I didn't realize it. It takes forever to get a PhD. Well, it's still an accomplishment.
