I tasted the sky
in your kiss
and was lost
in your celestial embrace,
as the sun continued
to assault me
with lips
that burned and revived
the peaks and valleys
that defined my land.

You touch me
with your light
where even shadows
cannot enter
and suffuse me
with brightness
that pour out
from your hands
leaving me
gasping
and wanting
for more.

I burn
and thirst
for that flickering flame
that tastes,
with ardour,
every drop of sweat
on every pale,
quivering fruit
that eagerly awaits
to be ignited
and liberated
from the raging winter
of my heart.

And as you enter
in the secret valley
within forever
the sky will once again
hold the land
in an ephemeral moment,
every thrust moving mountains,
every breath an explosion of stars,
a fundamental union of elements,
the fire within a flame.

You fill me
with an intensity
beyond
the reach of love,
where every passion-filled
moment
that burns me,
is a rediscovery
of you.

And after
the white fire
of our passion
has filled the land
with pulsating crimson;
and the fierce blaze
has been reduced
to soft embers
descending
from its celestial bed,
you softly brushed
your lips
against mine,
and held me
next to your heart.

The sky holding on
to its kindred ground,
embracing it both
with light and
drops
of liquid
sapphire
adorning its skin
like pieces of sky.

Silence
broken only
by an occasional sigh
and gentle kisses
as sunset united
heaven and earth
once again.
