Happy Birthday Koa, (haven't been on in a while, slept over at a friend's house this entire week)

here's a song:

"Happy birthday to you,
you get no gifts from me,
I take you to the movies,
and you pay them for me"

x)

a song my friend's friend came up with (to sing it to his mother) x) anyhow, Happy Birthday Koa

Koa's Birthday Sonnet

And so the year has past, and twenty-four,
Tolls for our Friend, Koa.
A lovely year, still in your "tweens" by Hobbit folk record,
With your whole life still before ya.
Celebrate your special day chosen just for you
With family and your friends!
And raise a glass to toast the girl in the mirror looking at you,
For she will be with you until time ends!
This passing year has but made you, Koa,
Just that much closer to us on this forum.
So you must forgive our wild celebrations of your day of life's review,
And our lack of proper decorum.
It's just that you have become quite indispensable to us one and all:
So here's a toast from Pendragon, and, indeed, from us all...

Pendragon

Thanks all!!! Thanks Pensive and Virgil for the cakes and presents, thanks Pendragon for the sonnet, it was sweet and it put a little tear in my eye and it made me smile too! Thanks Isagel for the black celebration and Scher for the purple and Taliesin for the Estonian greeting which I had never seen before... and thanks all the others!!!

It was a weird birthday... I was working all day as I was working for these days at an exhibition as some kind of "interpreter" (I would have never thought my French to be still so effective...). Tonight I would have wanted to go out but my friends were not available or ill... though I'm still pissed off because yesterday night I wanted to go to a concert of a local band but noone wanted to come (I even offered to pay for them if that was the problem...) and at the end I didn't because I didn't want to drive there all alone... (which annoys me because I want to be independent!).
So it feels a little weird when your online friends somehow make you feel more special than your real ones... But well tomorrow I'll meet some friends who want to celebrate me and it's really sweet of them

My mum wanted to put candles on my cake but she didnt have enough, she found one with the shape of a 1 to represent 10, and then 14 normal ones... And she used 4 matches to light them... That's when you start feeling that you're too old to have candles... ;)

Thanks again everyone :)

Thanks Virgil, I hope too. :D I even managed to have some kind of German conversations, even if it was hard to understand what they said and harder to speak but well, I somehow made it...:)

Nope Scher, we've been doing that since I was like 7...my mum loves that kind of thing, and the 1 used tonight was a survivor of some teen birthday... (probably my brother's) ;)

Aaaw thanks Em, that was all super-cool!!! :brow:

I couldn't decide between these two cakes, so you get both:

I like the way you think :D
The second one looks especially wonderful...mmmh

Some gelati (in honor of your Italian heritage):

...and ice cream, of course:

For the 100th time... what's the difference between gelati and ice cream then? For the Italian me, those are all gelati... :D

For the anglophile in you, Princess Anne looking somewhat unhinged and possibly drunk:

 And who's Princess Anne? :D Is she famous?

...Dave Gahan looking all cute and huggable:

 :eek2:  You got me almost falling off the chair here! Isn't that pic absolutely gorgeous? It's one of my all time favourite ones!!! That man definitely has class...

For the 100th time... what's the difference between gelati and ice cream then? For the Italian me, those are all gelati... :D:lol: Haha. Yeah, I guess they would be, huh? Well, as I understand it, what non-Italians (at least the Anglo-Saxon ones) call "gelati" has a different consistency than "ice cream." It's... not as hard, and more... gelatinous, I guess? It's like, "the original, Italian version of ice cream." Or something. Now I'm confused, too. :p

It's like... sorbet, maybe? If you think of sorbet as different from ice cream. I dunno.

 And who's Princess Anne? :D Is she famous?
She's Prince Charles' sister. I don't know much about her, I just liked the picture. :D

Oh yes... wait, is what you call sorbet the same thing I call sorbet?

The one we make here has some alcohol in it but it's really yummy :D

The sorbet I know is too thick to drink. But perhaps, in the middle between your sorbet and my ice cream. :D
