STUPIDITY.
How much pain does it take?
How many rejections before one understands?
I swore last time and all the times before
That “nevermore” would be my creed henceforth.
And of course, I did it again.
How many more must I push away,
Thinking all the time I’m extending a handshake,
When will I realize that my mirror distorts
And presents to me as a cheery smile
The snarl which clearer eyes perceive?
Some lessons are never learnt
And even as I wear my dunce’s cap once more
I know, despising myself, that this is not the end.
Gamble high stakes on my doing it again,
The last encounter is yet to come
