I'm just curious to how many on here own their own home. I'm doing a chapter about how to find a home and buy it and finance and all that fun stuff.

I'm a teen so I am nowhere near wanting or owning a home anytime soon. Maybe when i'm 25 and have a decent job. I can't even pay my cell phone bill! LOL

And for those non american how is financing different where you are? Here in the states you have to get a morgage that can be 15, 20, and 35 years. And most of your payment is intrest.

My parents own our home, a house in Vienna. Does that count?

I own the huge cloudy castle in the sky that can sometimes be seen. It's not nearly as comfortable as advertised. The humidity is killing me, that, and the lack of proper flooring, causing me to plummet down to the earth everytime I step out of bed in the morning.

I rent my apartment, but I own a small cottage. Really small, it is just a two tiny rooms and a kitchen.

Unfortunately not, I am renting a condo currently but I hope to own my own place (or more accurately to be paying the bank for my own place) by the time I'm 28......that gives me 3 years.

I share a rented apartment with my roomate, last year though we lived in a basement with two other roomates. This year is a decided improvment, we might even be able to get a cat soon.

I have a flat rent free with my job, including all utilities paid for. The nature of my job means I have to live on-site, and my wages are lower to compensate for the freebies.

Nice. I like all the responces. I can't wait to live on my own. I do mostly everything you have to do when you live alone now except buy groceries lol.

I don't. My parents do. They built theirs about 25 years ago, but they took out a second mortgage a while back, so it's still not all paid for, and I don't think it will be for... meh, ever.
