I´ll be back with comments on music - I just had to show you this comic about a metal/goth girl called Nemi. Hilarious. These are a couple of my favorites.

awww.. i was gonna start a thread like this. but since you've asked, i love red hot chilli peppers. that's rock, right? i don't know anything about music genres. i could die for you is one of my fave songs.
my other faves (u didn't ask but i'm telling u my favourite songs anyway)

iris (goo goo dolls. yes, they have a sad tendency to sound like complete try-hards, but when they're not trying to be good, they are in a slightly cheesy way)

story of a girl (no idea who this is by)
uhh..i could go on- i have a whole lot, but the list is pretty long, so i won't bore u with it. right now my favourite cds are smashing pumpkins and red hot chilli peppers.

First off ( no offence to fayefaye ) The red hot Chili pepers are really bad except for By the Way and Other side. But Iris is AWESOME!!! It is in one of my favorite movies ( or at least I remember it that way) City of angels.
That movie makes me cry, and there are very few that even put a tear in my eye. And there is no reason for me to put this :oops: in my message. A young man can cry! and it's a Kilt not a skirt you sickos! :D

My favorite rock band - at least right now- is Marilyn Manson.
Nothing like it when the world feels hopeless.

I like jazz and classic music and the usual pop as well. (pop is like snacks for the brain) But I sometimes I need the edge, rebellion and anger in his music. I don´t always like what he sings, but the feeling puls me away from boredom...And his lyrics makes me think.

Right now I listen alot to his new album Golden age of grotesque.

I also listen alot to Nine inch nails. But I don´t really now what you would call their kind of music.

:oops: Don't know much about music genres, I listen to music I like the lyrics and well, the music :oops:, oops, can you say stuck in a foreign language. Lately I listen to Evanescence a lot. Love the lyrics. I also love rock balads and rock love songs... it really doesn't mean a squad to me what the genre is as long as I like the songs.

ACTUALLY, NO, THE RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS ROCKKKKK!!! i could seriously kill u for saying that. tear u limb from limb. i don't mind if u don't like them, but i resent u saying they're 'really bad' without some kind of justification. i'm very defensive of them. have u heard 'i could die for you'? listen to it then get back to me. as for goo goo dolls, i like slide too. black balloon's ok. i kinda like that sort of music. i love third eye blind's semitone kind of life, but i've heard it waaay too much. i like oasis, coldplay, matchbox 20. recently someone told me all that sort of stuff is classified as rock. which means that rock is actually the only type of music i really like, the majority of what i listen to and pretty much the only music i've liked my whole life (with the exception of some classical, which i like but don't actually listen to, and some japanese music which for some reason i just end up listening to) i usually associate the term rock with like nirvana though. i spose i like the sort of inoffensive mainstream rock that i would accuse of being too manufactured, but who am i kidding? i love the stuff.

By the way (heh) Isagel, some of my friends are big Manson fans. One of them went to both his concerts when he toured Sydney, and one of the band members like this hat he was wearing (like a Nazi officer cap with a Manson sign on it) and invited him back stage. So he went back stage after the show for a beer with the group, except he didn't get to meet Manson himself, unfortunately (cos he was sick from bad coke, apparently, lol).

If recent times means people who still play as a band : Rancid, Lars Frederikson and the Bastards, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Lou Reed, Oasis. I can't think of any good metal bands who still do good stuff, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin are still the classics, Pantera are the best of the nineties. Metallica and Iron Maiden used to be great but their last albums are horrible.
