I don't know if many of you have heard of Ivor Cutler. He was a true original; a poet, musician and all-round eccentric. If you've never heard of him, you are missing something unique.

Here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4781980.stm) is his obituary from the BBC.

And here (http://www.ivorcutler.org/) is his own site, where you can get a flavour of the man. Buy any of his books or CDs, you won't be disappointed, confused certainly, but not disappointed.

The Earth meets the sky over the hill. I was told by a sparrow with a lump on its head.

So that's why there was a clip of him at the end of the news the other night.

First John Peel, now him. It's sad. I was never a huge fan, but it was nice to know he was there.

I always liked this one, from the album he did with a woman who called herself Jammy Smears:

You are the centre of your little world
As I am of mine
Now and again we meet for tea
We're two of a kind
We have a beautiful cosmos
You and I...
