What an interesting question. Ok, here we go:

1. My favourite is The taming of the shrew.
2. This is where it gets tricky. Why indeed? Probably because it makes me laugh. When I read Shakespeare, it's usually one of his comedies, and I keep rereading this one. It is also essentially timeless: Men and women go about their business today as they did then, with the occasional clash as a result.

Petrarch's Love

Interesting question. I've never seen Winter's Tale performed, and it's a strange one, so I'd be interested to see how they staged it. I'd love to see the infamous stage direction "exit pursued by bear" enacted. However, I think my favorite play (though it's really hard to choose) is probably the Tempest, and as one of the later ones it has all sorts of great visual potential for staging, including Prospero's masque toward the end.

I agree with Petrarch's Love! Definitely "The Tempest." I can visualize what's going on in "The Tempest" better than any of WS's other plays. The imagery WS creates with words in that play is totally awesome!

Peace!
