Lion-hearted men who duck
From under ripe green target apples –
The true test of the heart, but it’s not
About courage, not about strength;
The apples are assumed evil, pierced
By dark spades of the bow of the Son,
But they have no arms to wave
White satin sheets of surrender,
While whom you’d not expect,
With an apple balanced, teetering
On her ghastly scalp, a sick grin
That spreads faster than the arrow sails,
Stays standing there, just waiting,
For unlike the lion-hearted or smart,
She knows that the apple is the target,
For the man below is untouchable –
Nothing but an endless competition,
Which, of course, he above never loses,
But he never wins, either – see,
The apple is thwarted, but she below grins.

Something I put together in the past hour. I wasn't sure if it got the point across that I was trying to make, so I thought I'd put it up for comments.
Please tell me what you think, honestly. Thanks!
