I found this game elsewhere (Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, to be exact) and tought it might be fun. It goes like this. You take the numbers 1-10 and then use Literaturary Things to express the number, but use inatials only--the player has to fill in the answer. Actually you can use any numbers, but keep them in lists of TEN. OK? Let's go!
One F.O. the C.N. = One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
There are two S. to E. S. = There are two sides to every story
These three were A., A. & P. = The three were Athos, Aramis and Porthos
The four R. of the A. = The four Riders of The Apocalypse
A C. I. D. always has five claws. = A Chinese Imperial Dragon always has five claws.
There are six S. on a D., O. S. A. U. to 7. = There are six sides on a die, opposite sides add up to 7
There are seven D. S. = There are seven Deadly Sins
There are eight S. on a S. S. = There are eight sides on a stop sign
There were nine H. on the H. = There were nine heads on the Hydra
Usually, there are ten F. & T. on a P. = Usually there are ten fingers and toes on a person/primate
Good luck or go bonkers! Wow! Scher shot the lights out! Tod got two more! Finito!http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/grinser/grinning-smiley-021.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/grinser/grinning-smiley-021.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/grinser/grinning-smiley-021.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/grinser/grinning-smiley-021.gif

Going for some comic book ones...
The first N-C M of the J L A was G A (easy, right?).
The Seven S of V have no P.
There are three C on each of L H's H. (the first H is optional; do you know his real name?).
G L must recharge his R every twenty-four H.
The H T is one of four F mutated S.
As of now, there have been four R who have played S to B.
The F has two little L B's on his E.
S has had two loves, L L and L L; and one primary enemy, L L.
C (also known as S S) technically has two E, but behaves as if he only has one.
D (also known as M M) technically has two E, but doesn't use them at all.

You use DC so much that I was confused, plus I'm not used to the fact that they now know his birth name. There are three Claws on each of Logan Howlett's (Wolverine's) Hands. So we'll fill in those two. That will help that much. #1 Think Norse Mythology
#2 Tony Stark
#3 Since they are the children of Loki, check Norse Mythology: But a hint: F.W. is scheduled to meet Odin at Ragnarok. The M.S. is scheduled to take on Thor. And H. Goddess of D. is different in the comics than in mythology, but still head of Vallahalla.
The girl in #4 has a name that could be a gemstone or a very fancy drinking glass.
Let me think. #5 should be easy. Forget the number and focus on the initals. Two very similar characters, similar costumes (except colors), similiar MO's, same last name.
#6 OK, Robin got Dock Ock and Sandman. The other four are a master of disguise, a special effects expert, a living dynamo, and a carrion bird.
#8 Returns to Norse Mythology
#9 You are given The Hydra Organization: BVS wears The Satan Claw and is infectied with a virus that kills others with just his touch. V. is also known as Lady Hydra.
#10 Think Chinese.
I hate to give this much away, but I want people to be able to answer the questions. :D

In point of clarification--squid have ten limbs; 8 are arms, and two are tentacles, the tentacles being distinguished by significantly greater length and either hooks or large suction cups on the end.

#5) In the United States, doing 55 is called doing D.B.---- double nickel?
#8) 8 M. make an O. ---- 8 musicians make an octet?
Stan, you da man!
#8 is absolutely right! Bravo!
#5 yes and no. What kind of nickel would start with B.? (I should have given Dixie that clue when she guess the same thing!)
Oh, BTW. Here is the fridge, get whatever you like! http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/nahrung/c085.gif :thumbs_up

Well, #10 is obscure, so I'll just give it: There are 99 Steps to Lower Dreamland.
This Ends My Numbers Rackets. I trust someone else to take up the reigns and not let the thread die.
#1) 13 means B.L. = 13 means Bad Luck
#2) 40 means you are O. the H. = 40 means you are Over the Hill
#3) There are 3 P. on a T.H. = I didn't keep a mastercopy and I can't remember! Sorry!
#4) There are 4 L. on a Q. = There are 4 Legs on a Quadraped.
#5) In the United States, doing 55 is called doing D.B. = Double Buffalo (Buffalo Nickles were common once, and are making a comeback)
#6) You get Y.K. on R. 66. = You get Your Kicks on Route 66
#7) Biblically speaking the measure of M.D. is equal to 70. Man's Days (Fourscore & Ten = 70)
#8) 8 M. make an O. = 8 Musicians make an Octet
#9) Y., the diminutive G.J.M., claimed to be 900 years old. = Yod, the diminutive (Green) Great Jedi Master claimed to be 900 years old.
#10) 1000 Y. is a M. 1000 Years is a Millenium.

I think the Rule of Ten might be stifling the game somewhat.
Here's one:

4 L that the B K lostJust a guess, Robin, based on King Arthur.
4 Lances, or (Lists, another name for jousts) that the Black Knight lost.

OK
Start with five hundred, end with five hundred
And five in the middle shall be
The first letter, the first person,
Will take their place in between
And now you will find that you have discovered
The name of a very great King.

There is an English word:
If it has one (L) it is a priest
If it has two (L's) it's a beast
The only way to give it three (L's) is to make it into an expression:
What is the word? Tricky...

First is lama and the second llama but what is the third?
We are not so good at the expressions.
Call lama? Don't know what it means, but well, one can give a try.

Hee-hee! Yes! The Crow Boy speaks the truth! And Stan the Man has the correct Poet! Read the poem Stan.
"The one L lama, he's a priest.
The two L llama, he's a beast.
And I will bet a silk pajama,
There isn't any three L lllama!"
Then Mr. Nash adds this footnote:
"There is a type of fire called a "three-alarmer" (THREE L LAMA) Bah, humbug!"
