"Identity" by DarkClarity
Quite poetic, yet feeling does it show?
Is that man in the mirror someone you know?
Taketh thy person and gaze inside,
is such a revelation worthy of pride?
Upon searching myself, nothing is found,
pervasive darkness floats round and round.
Superficial is the man of deed,
who mocks the jester and sits upon his steed.
Transient is the man of word,
who triumphs in battle and then joins the herd.
Are you who examine worthy of such praise?
Or are you basking those self-created rays?
Fear not, darkness will return and the light will end,
The armies will march and the shepherds will tend.
It is then that the question will come,
who are you and where are you from?
If you looked inside, what would you see?
Would it be the person you wanted to be?
Thus is the moral, for one is in every story,
that those who hide themselves are in folly.
Fear not who you are, concealment is futile,
and those who are truthful can go the extra mile.
