Server Updates

Well, we had record traffic here in the forum a couple days ago... and it got slowwww.

So, I've been upgrading the server. This morning I added 2 gigabytes of ram, upgraded the database software, upgraded the php software, and did some configuration changes. So far, so good, its running faster right now (but its saturday afternoon and peak traffic is usually school nights). So we'll see what happens. There are a couple other tweaks I want to try.

Looks like it did the trick. Yesterday it was slow enough to hand me timeouts, and then it went offline alltogether (I suppose I stumbled right into the upgrade?). Now, on the other hand, everything seems to be in great shape :thumbs_up .

Thank's for keeping this place online, btw: It's a super place. I think I got addicted as soon as I found it :D

It is amazingly fast. And thank you for the kitkats. I don't mind one with a cup of tea. But perhaps next time we can have some of your awesome toast and homemade jam.
Hey Scher, do you , by any chance know how to bellydance? Just everyone here is taking lessons, I just wanted to know about it. I dance regular dance, some classic and some rock opera type dance, some jazz, but don't know about belly dancing.
And I can't get it out of my mind that you are an exotic type person that would know.
AT any rate, it is wonderful to see the posts move along, time is precious and flies away too quickly.
