Hey everyone i was thinking and i thought well maybe i can think on line hahaha, ok not so funny but anyways i was thinking there have been many times that i regret not doing stuff and i was wondering why didn't i do it? so i though maybe you had an idea of why we sometimes we don't do stuff we want...

daddysfiddler
02-20-2006, 08:30 AM
A lot of times I don't do the stuff I want because I'm too overextended. There may be something I really want to do, but if I've already committed to 3 other things, then that's just too bad and I need to stick with my commitments. <><

Don't regret the things you didn't do, EVER! Instead focus on the things you did do. If you do that, it'll become easier to do things too. (A lot of O's in there.) Remember, do or do not, there is no try.

Obviously sometimes people don't do things they want because it might not be the smart thing to do. For instance I always want to tell people just how totally insane I am, and prove it to them, but that is not a smart thing to do, since people might be a little freaked out if I suddenly strip down naked and run around screaming "monkey's ate my underwear." So I don't do it.

One rule I was taught a while ago: If you're going to have regrets, it's better to be in a position to say afterwards, "I wish I didn't do that" rather than "I wish I did that." Of course that doesn't work with everything.

hey Chef,
I am glad you are here with us. I love the picture.
I think fears and a tendency to daydream too much about things instead of just going out and doing them causes many people to have things just pass them by. And sometimes one has noone to really understand and encourage him/her to go for it. That is why it is nice to find yourself a forum where you can give others your ideas and as you get more known the feed back becomes more and more valuable and may be the thing you need to move in the direction of that dream.

rachel

You believe it, I am so glad you came.
I was thinking we should have a bake sale in each of our cities and send you the money for that car. Then next we find a way to send each one of us to your city so we can all be in a picture with you and your car. And then after that we make it into a movie and the rest as they say is history. And you will then be a kazillionaire after you write your best selling book on "how I survived the guys on Litnet"

chef, let it be known from this day forth through all the land that rachel is more or less the nicest person you will meet. It also seems from this thread, chef, that you and i have a lot in common.
Cheers

And Chef let it be known that Irish is as true and noble and faithful a friend that you could ever ask for in this world. Remember that if you need a guy to talk to.
And hey we might as well be the three muskateers of this thread anyhow. Are you two in? We'll go out on the street and help those whose hearts are broken and who need material blessings, then you both came come to my house and I'll make a dozen pizzas, your favorite and we'll play guitar and play monopoly(I suck at all games) and the winner gets to have the other two clean his or her house, apartment or dorm for the next two weeks with only a whisk broom(those teensy ones) a toothbrush and a lot of soap and water!

you are in , but I rather think of you as a king that we should go to when we need wise and loving council. Is that how you spell his name, it doesn't right but I don't know how to spell it either.
And I thought that you and Riesa and Xamonas were the three muskateers on the Haiku thread. I wish I could master that but you are supposed to always represent a season and I always forget. I wish my brain functioned to the same high degree as you Haiku geniuses.

Maybe thats why his music is so good.
If you think about it ... Beethoven had his share of suffering, so did Ray Charles, Yeats, Poe, Billy Holiday ...
too bad I'm not too screwd up, I guess I'll never be the artist I wish I were.

oh as soon as I pack us some things. We want to rough it on the road so we will only need-big fluffy pink sleeping bags and matching backpacks that have little sparkles and say"girls rule", huge overstuffed pillows for sweet dreams, wardrobe for two weeks and matching everything, meaning tons of pretty jeans and t shirts from every rock concert known to man, loads of refreshing lotion for all of us, lots of good pairs of those cute little ankle boots that can also double as trekking boots, those little instant beds, one for you and one for me and of course dear Irish, those instant tents you don't have to do a thing with except move in a certain direction and they pop right up, a guard dog-part wolf part shepherd, books on conversational every language, the book Virgil wants us to read, matches and lighter fluid, pouches and pouches of instant food, water filter and jug, cleaning stuff so our clothes always look new,a blackberry,mp3,oh right a manicure and pedicure kit, cam corder so I can get you on camera doing the most fun stuff, fake tickets to any concert we want plus band jackets,a six month supply of chocolate and vitamin and mineral supplements and lots of sugar free gum. Other than that I think we are set, see hardly anything at all. Oh of course we will need three donkeys and money to buy them food along the way since they will so graciously be going with us.I am very sorry that Irish, who has been away, didn't have time to be consulted but he looks really pretty in pink and he is easy going. So we will load up and swing by his house and away we go: All for one and one for all! Virgil is busy with his wife and there is no way we are having five muskateers( all that snoring at night) so off we go jiji! I am SO PUMPED. yahoo! :thumbs_up

good idea, everyone join in, but hey please get your own horses and stuff. I am totally bagged out and I have only just begun. One of the horses keeps trying to run after cars, the other wants to lay down and the donkeys are just plain stubborn.
What shall we have for a picnic, oh I know let's have Virgil and Riesa do the cooking. they can cook wonderful stuff and tons of it and let's eat until we fall down.(on the other hand I don't see how I am supposed to practice dance like that, but oh well one time.)
you get to keep the huge diary I bought. We'll all put our names in it and each night we will all take turns writing in it and then when we get back we'll photocopy it all and have some wonderful memories forever.
Hey Virgil, hey Riesa, get up and get cooking. jiji!
love you Chef(hugs and a kiss)

Riesa
03-07-2006, 02:13 PM
True, the donkeys are stubborn, but a stick and a carrot does do wonders, it's true.
And they will make superb pack animals, but I refuse to have a pink sparkly backpack, I hope that's okay. rachel and chef have got that market plenty covered in my eyes, speaking of which, please ride behind me so that the sight of those backpacks doesn't give me a migraine. About this cooking stuff, we'll have to have a string of garlic and a cartload of peppers and onions, and mesquite chips. I can make a mean t-bone, but I always burn the hot dogs. Gourmet coffee for the dawn, and a bottle of schnapps are in order to sooth our sore bums at the end of the long day. I hope no one forgets the flint or the tp. I like the diary idea, but it just wouldn't be a true camping trip without a few haikus, so get ready, we should have plenty of nature to observe simply. Why is there a cricket under my chair?(random thought)

Stanislaw

a random thought on the random existence, that this is the third incarnation of randomness on this forum since some time, and yet the first has slowly withered and only few uphold its diminishing glory...

...and I am hungry, think I am going to eat some chicken, or maybe tuna, I am not sure yet.

The sky is blue, but at night it's black.

chef
03-07-2006, 07:33 PM
Virgil i agree with you lets have a BBQ!!!
oh and Ryduce actually the sky is always blue, i think i am not sure that it looks blue because of the bactiria or the gasses i don't remember but anyways, it’s just that since the moon doesn’t produces light, it is the reflection of the light the sun produces, it doesn’t reflect enough light so that the sky would look the tone of blue we see during day.

Ryduce

No one understands my humor.

chef
03-07-2006, 07:37 PM
sorry then explain it i want to know

Ryduce
03-07-2006, 07:52 PM
I was just saying something obvious and random. :D :D :D

The sky is blue because blue has the shortest wavelength in the color spectrum. The light from the sun enters the atmosphere and crashes into atmospheric gases and scatters across the sky.Because it's short wavelengths are absorbed by all the gas molecules, the blue light is coming from all directions. Thus the sky is blue.

At least this is how I remember it from science class.Someone please tell me if I am wrong.

So did I kiddo, but hey if everyone understood everyone else's humour what a dull world this would be.
And okay Riesa babe you can wear what you want, I am such a girl, cannot help it.However in real life, really really really real life I mainly wear dove grey or black. I dress in very understated garb. and if pink, icy pale pink.BUT THIS IS A holiday and tacky is in.
And oh Virg although I love cooking and baking and all that jazz, I happily joyfully give you the reigns. I just know you will keep us so happy with all your awesome barbeques. thank you .
a stick and a carrot huh. I warn you ahead of time if you use the stick I shall leap upon you and tickle you until you let go of it then throw it away.
Stan, ye adorable gye, I have a Muskateer hat with a skull and crossbones glued to it, made out of real skull and bones. will that suit ye? and here have my chicken, it is just like you like
And Virg each night under the stars you can read an excerpt from the sound and the fury and I will cry tears of joy as I fall asleep,
Yehaw!!!And Chef will sing us all to sleep, well then of course I will have to get up and sing her to sleep and well just forget it.

rachel
03-08-2006, 01:47 AM
I like Austen, actually, let's ride hard and long and get there and then let's go to a nice blues concert and just relax. Just make sure Virg that Ry doesn't get any real alchohol, he's too funny already plus I would probably be afraid of his parents. Not all parents are oversensitive scaredy cats like me you know. I know some ladies that could make me obey anything at all just by one look!
Well off we go, and where is that salve, I haven't ridden for a while. Riesa do you have a map. I just happen to have a magic wand that will get all of us to one place as the starting point. now where will that one place be? any suggestions?I would sort of love to start at Riesa's house and hang out for an hour anyway. but I need some feed back.It has to be at someone's house, not in the middle of nowhere.
And Virg I am so hungry.

Rachel, Chef....perfect, let's start at my house since, Austin is only 45 minutes away!
We'll saddle up, lead the donkeys (I meant stick with a carrot tied to it, like bait to get them to go, I'm not going to hit them with it) and the horses down to the lake for a good long drink, then set off through the hills, first stop Mr. Stubbs where we'll take in some good honest Music. Then off to ???? Where's the next stop? Plus, we really shouldn't camp in downtown, to many wild college kids about, they might take off with the sparkly pink stuff. ;)
