i know some people are getting tired of hearing us teens ask for homework help but we cant help it. now back to the matter at hand. my AP Lit teacher has given the class an assisgnment to find an excerpt, so to speak, from an (auto)-biography. i am in dire need of a book from which to find my piece, i have been trying to get a hold of the book "Art of War" but thus far have been unsuccessful. if anyone has read that book could you tell me if it is anything that i may find to my likings or just give me some details from it. if not, does anyone have any ideas for a book i that would interest a fiction loving, power hungry, very debatable teen.

For autobiography look to Malcolm X (I've never read it but I've heard it's very influential) or Ben Franklin's (I find him a very interesting man)

Start from what you know. Think of a notable person whom you admire, or hate, and read his/her autobiography.
You say you love fiction - perhaps you could choose an autobiography of a writer whom you like.
If you like debate, and questions of power, then the autobiography of any modern politician should provide you with enough material. (As a debater, you will, of course, choose a politician whose views you do not agree with.)
Good hunting.

I haven't read it yet, but The Art of War can be located on this site and it's fully searchable by word :) there is biographical info and an introduction and commentary as well.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X is one of the most interesting books I've read. I loved it. I don't think he's remembered as quite the man he was. Yes, he was blinded (not literally) for most of his life, but he still doesn't get credit for as much as he should. Those were hard times for black americans, and he was very much needed and did a lot of good work.
