I did a search and it brought me here. I took music appreciation in College and we had to memorize The Moldau. (yeah, that worked) I remeber most of it, but I don't want to teach it incorrectly. Any help?? I need to know the actually scenes that the music is describing. When I think I have it right, I second guess myself.
In return I can help anyone with almost any other piece of classical literature.

Hi, Electra. You may want to post your question in the general literature section if you want more of a response. Sorry I can't help you, clueless but welcome.

Hi Electra--If you're still hanging around, maybe this would be of some help. As you probably know, the "Moldau" refers to one movement of Smetna's cycle of tone poems, "Ma Vlast" (my country). The six movements are: 1. Vysehrad (high citadel) 2. Vltava (the river Moldau) 3. Sarka (leader of bohemian Amazons) 4. Ceskych Luhu a Haju (From Bohemia's Meadows and Forests) 5. Tabor (stronghold of the Hussites) 6. Blanik (Valhalla of the Hussite heroes: a mountain in S. Bohemia)
N.B. I took the translations for the movements from the Oxford Dictionary of Music. Also, there are some accent marks in the original language that I couldn't figure out how to mark in this program.
Were these the movements you were looking for? I don't know a program for Vltava, the "Moldau" movement in particular. Hope this helps.
