What is love?
It's something that nations did clove.
It's something that hits ev'ry cove.
It's a feeling as pretty as a white dove.
It's a sensation as sweet as a blooming grove.
It's what in heavens did hove.
It's what makes lovers rove.
It's life's most precious treasure trove.
It's life's most precious cloth it ever wove.
That is love!

What is war?
It's a nail in a bar.
It's a bomb in a car.
It's the smell of a corps that does char.
It's the sight of a longing that is so far.
It's that unexpected sensation of a jar.
It's that frightening anxiety to mar.
It's the world's most aching scar.
It's the world's most evil star.
That is war!

A very forthright & well constructed poem. A strong use of rhyme. Good parallels. I mean it; every word. Some might call parts of the stanzas antiquated & the like, but generally a worthy transition into modern usage of the phrases.

You're on your way to something, I know it.
