MW... one thing i don't get is the time big brother takes to torture and re educate the prisoners. wouldn't it cost a lot less money, time and effort just to exuacute them shortly after they are arrested. i understand that big brother wants to make the prisoners feel helpless, and set an example to the public that they are wrong. it just seems like they take to much time effort to torture them.one more question, does it say in the book how long winston is arrestted for? if it dosn't how long do you guys think he is in there before he gets killed? (i'm just wondering b/c i havent read the whole book yet )
