Hi there,

I have read the book, and now I'm making a book report of it, for school. But the school has given me some questions and I can't answer them all by myself. Please help me. Here are the questions:
1. Could you find a name forr the type of novel you have read?
2. Is there an initial incident, an event that makes the story start?
3. What is the climax of the story in your eyes?
4. Does the climax have influence on the course of the story?
5. Give a complete picture of the setting: time, place, social background.
6. What is the theme of the book according to you?
Who is the narrator of the story, or in other words, from whose point of view do we see and experience things?
7. How does the wirter use time? Chronologically? Flashbacks?

Maybe you think I can answer this questions by myself, but when I read a book, I always forget everything around me and don't even think about the questions school gave me.

I hope you can answer (some of) these questions for me.

Don't try to answer the questions in numerical order. Start with the question that makes the most sense, ie. 'who is the narrator'? Then flesh out the setting, time, etc. Reconstruct the story. The theme should reveal itself -- and it will be more obvious than you thought.
I would return question number 4 with a question of my own: what? (By the time the climax rolls around, the 'course of the story' is pretty much everything that happened. All you have left is the mopping up... and the words THE END.)

You shouldn't expect anyone to do your homework for you. These questions are pretty easy, and you are more than capable of answering them by yourself.

Take Question #1 for example. What is the genre? Well, go look up the various types of fiction (remember: google is your friend) and see which one it matches up with. Is 1984 a romance novel? How about science fiction? Mystery?

For question #2, I don't know the answer. I would have to go reread the first part of the book to find out. Fortunately, that's your job, not mine. So go take a look right now and see what event (if any) take place at the beginning of the story.

The rest of the questions are easy enough. If you actually read the book, you will be able to answer them.

Well, the answer to the first one is "dystopian" which means that it is not a utopian novel where everything is based on perfection. :brickwall:

The narrator of the novel would be Winston because everything is looked at by how he see's stuff happening

Very easy questions, especially for 1984. Question two is a one word answer: No. This should take about five minutes with minimum effort.
