I read the first chapter of part three, and i couldnt even imagine being in the ministry of love. To me it doesnt seem right for why winston is in there. I feel so bad for him, i mean not eatting for about 24/36 hours and he can't move bc he is being monitored and if he makes a single move then then he would get yelled at by the telescreen. Which not to mention that there is 4 telescreen's in the cell one on each wall. So he doesnt have not even the smallest privacy. Winston's Cell is dark and cold from the air. Broken benches,The cell is dirty filthily. The ministy of love had no windows you couldn't even tell what time of day is was or anything. He always wonder what time is was. I dont think he deserves to be treated like this, unless he did something absoutly unforgetabley horrible like murdering someone or something along those lines with harming the wall. I dont think someone as nice and winston should be treated as badly as he is. What do you think should he be treated the way he is? I just think the ministry of love is behond what words can say. Tell me what you think your perdictions of this whole ministry of love is.

ray... I don't agree with you b/c according to the gov't he did do some thing bad. He rebelled against the gov't in a society that doesn't have free speech and relly can't do anything else.

I have to say that i also don't agree with TGFL90. According to the government Winston has comitted a crime of having a relationship. I also belive that this law/rule of the government is not very necessary.

Phay....Yes,I also disagree with TGFL90 if there isnt freedom of speech in oceania he should be arrested by saying down with big brother and going against big brother oceania isnt a country that has democracy.Theres reasons why there is laws and if you break them there is conquences.Even if hes being tortured.

Technically, Teacher, you are wrong. "This was not illegal (nothing was illegal, since there were no longer any laws), but if detected it was reasonably certain that it would be punished by death, or at least by twenty-five years in a forced-labour camp." (Orwell) Laws are non-existent and yet punishments (or are they punishments in the strict sense?) remain. Ah, how deep the river of double-think runs...
