Happy New Year!
Tonight I'm headed for Waikiki to drink with a buddy and watch the touri get plastered. First, a bottle of vino will wash down a free music concert at the outdoor Waikiki Shell in Kapiolani Park. Then we will prowl the bars and nightclubs like alley tomcats in search of felines.
Perhaps we will get lucky with a couple of attractive women from Podunk, Idaho, looking for hula-hula boys to write home about. Who knows? The night will be hot and sweaty and anything could happen.
No New Year's resolutions for me. Just more of the same, with no regrets. To paraphrase Nietzsche, regret is the bite of a dog into stone.
Life is good, especially with a saucy island flavor. I can already hear the tradewinds calling me to Bacchus.
